PREVIOUS SHOWCASE RE-CAP!!! Memorial Day Weekend judged by Universal Music Group A&R representative Terrence Nelson:

Michigan Import Tops King Ryan Events, iShowcase Music Competition
May 30th, 2010 Los Angeles, Ca.

For Immediate Release:

Terrence Nelson has an ear for talent. He’s been at Universal Music Group (Interscope Records) for approximately 5 years and since his start with the company he has been to a great many shows both professional and amateur. When Nelson came to
judge the iShowcase Music Exhibition, a showcase for unsigned music artists
produced by King Ryan Events this past Memorial Day Weekend, he had some tough
decisions to make. In the end, Michigan native Jonah Stacy was Nelson’s top
choice to win the showcase competition and meet with him at the Universal Music
Group office for a professional consultation.

“I am currently working on Keri Hilson, Soulja Boy, Lloyd, Sammie, and Roscoe Dash as an A&R at Interscope Records and I am always looking for more talent for the label…” said Nelson. “…I came from New Mexico and earned my way up through the music
business so I understand what it’s like to start from nothing. These performers
are in the beginning of their career and I believe that King Ryan Events puts
more effort into the showcases than any other promoter and gives these
musicians an opportunity… that is why I am here.”

Showcase winner Jonah Stacy www.myspace.com/JonahStacy was equally as opportunistic as Nelson saying “…I am happy to be in the presence of people that are higher up than me.” Stacy was soulful and put forth an effort to bring about something different to the Los Angeles music scene. When asked who is musical inspirations are Stacy was quick to reply “I am inspired by John Mayer among others. I just want to create original music that makes people feel good.”

Although Stacy pulled out the victory, he was not the only showcase competitor that caught Terrence Nelson’s eye. Two other showcase competitors brought great
stage presence and earned an encore selection to come back to the stage at the
end of the evening. R&B singer Ashley Janae covered Whitney Houston and
Pop/R&B new comer Anjel performed some very creative original material at
this event.

Other music industry representatives and special guests came out to see the talent. Ricky Tan and Ke Moe of “Moe-Tan Records” helped with the judging for this
showcase. KLASfm.com radio host Maryam came out to network with the talent as
well as many other producers and music industry elite.

King Ryan Events pledges continued pursuit of excellence and showcase opportunities for Pop/R&B and Hip Hop performers alike. If you are a musician, or would

iShowcase Dance presented by King Ryan Events

‘Dance Crews’ take over King Ryan Events showcase

May 30th 2010

Los Angeles California FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Los Angeles area dance performers have a new outlet to showcase their talent and compete for a year-end, grand prize that includes cash among other notable prizes. King Ryan Events produced its first round of the dance competition, “iShowcase Dance”, this past Memorial Day weekend at the Aqua Lounge in Beverly Hills to a delighted and vocal crowd. King Ryan Event’s choreographer/coordinator Justine Menter, chose several highly talented dance crews to compete at the showcase as well as two very well established judges to oversee the competitors. The showcase’s purpose is to have highly respected choreographers help find the next generation of great dancers and give them exposure and an opportunity to take another advance towards stardom as a performer.

Menter, who’s best known for her work as the lead choreographer and owner of the “Flirt Dancers”, took on the task and selected celebrity judges Donyelle Jones (“So You Think You Can Dance” Season 2 & America’s Best Dance Crew Season 4) and Derrell Bullock (Broadway Dance Center New York & Edge Performing Arts Center) for the showcase. “The Flirt Dancers are my main project, but I have coordinated many events over the past few years.” said Menter “…these judges are very well known in the dance community and I love dancing so I am at all of the big dance events here in Los Angeles… working with these judges and coordinating this event only comes natural to me.”

The judges of this showcase had no easy task. The “Outer Circle” dance crew came out with ferocity right at the beginning of the event and never looked back. “Outer Circle” was a standout crew that had obviously been focused on putting the crowd in awe. Their fluid routine included many acrobatic twists with a little flair for the dramatic and several surprising dance maneuvers that fans of the show could interact with. By executing a stellar performance and gaining the judge’s approval, “Outer Circle” has been advanced to the iShowcase Dance grand finale event set for Los Angeles in December 2010 where the ultimate winner of the contest will be crowned.

Joining the “Outer Circle” dance crew with an equally impressive showing was “Tokyo the Company”. Perhaps even a little bit more risqué, lead choreographer “Tokyo”, had more to say about his team after they moved on to the finale “…I like ‘Twilight’ and I wanted to have a Werewolf and Vampire theme.” Tokyo went on to say “…I have been blessed with such a wide variety of dancers …so I just try to showcase everyone’s amazing talent and I am blessed to have beautiful dancers.”

Following a successful debut, the “iShowcase Dance” competition now moves to its new home, Cinespace Nightclub on Hollywood Boulevard for the Summer. Competitors that wish to enlist in the competition, or gain more information about the showcase, email inquiries, resume, web site, reels, pictures, and other details about your dance crew to justine@kingryanevents.com
